“I think Lou is winning far more 50/50s now. When he goes into tackles with bigger boys, he’s coming out with the ball much more often than he was before.
From the outside, he looks like he’s always going to win the ball. His strength, speed, and stamina are incredible. He bursts through the pitch, lasts much longer, and outlasts both his teammates and the opposition by a noticeable margin.
His strength in the tackle and his ability to hold players off when chasing the ball have improved massively. Overall, his strength and stamina in general play have come on hugely. He was good before, but the improvement has been significant.
As his dad, I can see a clear physical change. He’s more muscular, more defined — he’s got what you’d call proper footballer’s legs now. There’s much more definition there.
The mix of pitch-based stamina work, injury prevention, and core training has all come together really well. Collectively, it’s helped Lou move from where he was to where he wants to be.
The consistency of the training has been key. I was genuinely surprised by the results after just three months. Even simple tests like the wall sit were unbelievable — he barely looked like he was moving.
As his coach as well as his dad, I probably notice it even more in training and matches. Other people have commented on how much fitter and stronger he looks — stronger than they thought was possible — and that’s down to the exercises and the programme he’s following.”
